In the course of the history Hercegovinian wines have been
glorified throughout Europe, above all, however, in the Austro-Hungarian palaces
of the 19th century. It is hard to believe that quality wines can be grown in
the unfriendly Hercegovinan karst. But exactly this abundance of stone and the
meditarranean climate are the one and only place in the world, where the wines
ilavka and Blatina can be grown. More than 2,300 insolation hours are
gently stroking the unique stony vinyards –the home of the white, aromatic
ilavka and the ruby Blatina, with its unmistakeable aroma and the rich,
harmonic flavour. Degustate the poetry in bottles and the typical culinary specialties
of the Hercegovina – pršut (Hercegovinian ham), uštipci (domestic
fritters) and typical Hercegovinan cheese.
